Senior software engineer (SaaS scale-up in GRC)

About the role
Our client is a fast-growing B2B SaaS scale-up helping organizations manage their risk and compliance in a smarter, more collaborative way. They are on a major journey: transforming a successful but aging single-tenant monolith into a modern, modular, multi-tenant platform designed to power their next stage of growth.

What you’ll be doing

  • Build the future of their platform: contribute to a multi-year modernization journey that will define the company for the coming decades.
  • Get your hands dirty in code and architecture: refactor core services, introduce multi-tenancy, externalize identity, and improve performance at scale.
  • Work closely with product and platform teams: not just building features, but shaping how everything is built.
  • Level up engineering practices: CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, event-driven patterns, security hardening, and more.
  • Bring ideas, not just code: challenge assumptions, suggest better approaches, and help the team grow.
  • Collaborate with a small but ambitious engineering team that moves fast, stays close, and works transparently.

Your toolkit

  • Solid experience building and maintaining complex software systems in .NET.
  • A good grasp of modern architectural patterns (modular monoliths, event-driven systems, microservices — or a strong desire to master them).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, automated testing, and cloud platforms (they use Microsoft Azure).
  • A love for clean, well-structured code and the willingness to work in an existing legacy codebase to make it better.
  • A pragmatic mindset: knowing when to build big and when to keep things simple.

Bonus points

  • Experience in a SaaS scale-up or modernization project.
  • Experience with identity management, multi-tenant architectures, or infrastructure as code.
  • Hands-on experience with Domain Driven Design (DDD): applying it in real scenarios, guiding architectural decisions, and involving the right stakeholders.
  • Dutch-speaking skills.
  • Familiarity with governance, risk & compliance software.
