Design strategist (digital product studio)

Our client, a topnotch digital product studio, is looking for a Design Strategist.

As a Design Strategist, you’ll blend strategy and hands-on design while making AI an integral part of your creative process, from research and prototyping to delivery. You’ll frame complex problems, uncover opportunities, and shape design foundations for new products and ventures. The role is designed for someone who thrives in ambiguity, loves big challenges, and aspires to grow into a Design Lead.

What you’ll do

  • Frame problem spaces by uncovering both human and business drivers behind client briefs
  • Explore desirability while balancing feasibility and viability
  • Design and facilitate workshops for discovery and ideation
  • Synthesize insights into actionable design strategies and prototypes
  • Define minimal viable brands (visual identity, tone of voice, brand principles) for greenfield projects
  • Shape design systems in collaboration with Engineering Leads
  • Communicate design recommendations clearly to clients and stakeholders
  • Lead the adoption of AI-native design workflows across research, prototyping, and delivery
  • Experiment with emerging tools, paradigms, and interaction models (voice, agents, AR, multimodal)

What you’ll bring

  • Strong background in UX and user-centered design
  • Excellent facilitation, co-creation, and storytelling skills
  • Confidence in client communication and guiding key decisions
  • Ability to turn complexity and ambiguity into clarity—quickly
  • Curiosity about business design, venture building, and opportunity framing
  • Passion for using AI to amplify creativity and design impact

How you’ll work

Projects move fast: short, high-intensity cycles from problem framing to validation. You’ll run workshops, test with users, prototype concepts, and deliver design foundations that inspire and inform. No fixed recipe, just adaptive, experimental methods.

Typical deliverables include:

  • High-fidelity prototypes (Figma + AI-assisted tools)
  • Minimal viable brand packages
  • Early-stage design systems
  • Workshop materials and co-creation outputs
  • Test plans, research scripts, and synthesis reports
  • Strategic presentations for clients and stakeholders

Growth path

This role is a stepping stone to Design Lead. Over time, you’ll expand into:

  • Leading client communication, framing, and facilitation
  • Supporting pre-sales and pitches with the executive team
  • Coaching and developing other designers and freelancers
  • Ensuring design quality across the studio (#QA)
  • Driving the studio’s long-term AI-native design vision
